Video/ Track Of the day: Shoes and Socks Off - Tork Sport
I’ve been pretty obbessed with the many musical projects of prolific songwriter and musicianship Toby Hains but his Shoes And Socks Off project is probably my favourite in all it’s unpredictable glory. Flitting bewteen gentle acoustics to electronica soundscapes, Toby has not been affraid of experimenting with this project and as about to unleash his 5th album in 5 years. ‘Tork Sport’ is the first offering from ’Miles Of Mad Water’; which was once a stripped back acoustic number but is now a minimalistic piece of electronica with a strong bass strong, flittering drum beats and sumptous harmonies and is very reminisant of Radiohead’s more electronically infused work. The sign of awesome things to come!

This is going to be pretty sweet. If you music stripped back and mostly acoustic, check this tour out; Dad Rocks is all pretty and twiddly, and Shoes And Socks Off is all tense and melodic but really quite beautiful at the same time. Get down.
found this. ha! 2007 was rad. hard going, but rad.
Hymns Tour dates with the brilliant Shoes and Socks Off…. We shall be and the Leeds date..
This should be sweet! Toby aka Shoes And Socks Off is one of my favourite songwriters of recent times and has pretty much shaped the way I play acoustic music in the past couple of years. And Hymns make me wanna be an two piece band again really badly; everything I’ve heard and seen from them has blown my balls! Come to Brum gig folks, I think you mite like it!
